Greetings, fellow cohousers,

This is being reposted from a few weeks ago - apparently it vanished into
cyberspace the first time.

I have been on this list for a few months and have been reading & enjoying
your postings. I feel I have found some kindred spirits here among you.

My husband Jim & I are a 50-yr. old couple about to embark on an adventure in
"homesteading" west of the Rockies, and are searching for other individuals &
families who are seriously considering a shared rural existence.

The opportunity available to us & others who envision themselves in a "micro"
intentional community is unique : we have significant resourcesin the form of a
completely equipped & fully-functional metal & wood workshop, as well as the
skills & know-how to generate a home-based income for an extended
family group. This can take the form of producing items such as contemporary
furniture, composters, objects of art,or energy-saving devices; or providing
services to neighboring communities - tool-sharpening, welding, implement &
appliance repair, sign-making. Also using our current farm experience,
organically raising specialty herbs & livestock will be considered in the
development of a flexible & diversified self-sustaining economy required for 2-4
families.

We have both enjoyed professional careers - Jim as an engineer, manufacturing
supervisor, & business owner; and myself as a biomedical researcher with a
degree in agriculture/veterinary science. We consider our proposed relocation &
future plans a natural growth integrating aspects of our careers with our
personal hobbies of fine woodworking, drawing & painting,
gardening -& a special interest in health, nutrition, & alternative healing.

First steps in relocation to a western home will begin by the end of this
year. Reconnaissance trips have been made to suitable sites in the Pacific NW &
the Southwest, where we had lived previously, but we are allowing room for input
from other couples or individuals regarding location & setting. Will also
consider joining with others who already have property in these areas - or
states such as Montana,Idaho,Wyoming, & Colorado.

We are inviting interested individuals to contact us by e-mail at:
       brichter [at] well.com or 102153.643 [at] compuserve.com
Postal mail to: P.O. Box 393, Ashley, OH 43003
