Howdy: If you are interested in doing a CSA on cohousing property then definitely invite local professional organic truck gardeners/farmers to inspect your site and discuss it with you. If there is already a CSA in your area invite them to talk with you too: perhaps they could expand on to your site. There is no easily quantified minimum acreage: it depends on things like soil quality, climate, type of crop, farming methods, local markets, etc. There are many economically viable small farm operations in suburban and urban areas. You needn't think rural when you think about farming. Being near or within a suburban/urban area puts you in close proximity to lots of hungry folks who like good healthy food. Good luck. James Kalin
