Hello to all fellow cohousers! I have been a long-time lurker and am coming out of the closet! I am involved in developing cohousing in Frederick, Maryland (about 45 minutes from both Wash., D.C. & Balto., MD). We purchased 27 acres of land in fall, 1995 and are deeply involved in the design & development phase now. We have clinched preliminary zoning for 23 homes and are applying for a change in the zoning to allow for 11 more. We are building duplexes on beautiful rolling farmland in a small town. Liberty Village CoHousing has 10 invested partners and 10 more active participants and are engaged in an aggressive PR campaign. I seem to remember Don Lindemann mentioning a national ad campaign to support as many groups as possible. Liberty Village CoHousing has agreed to support this national campaign as soon as possible to build on the positive press in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Popular Science articles seen recently. Liberty Village will have an official e-mail address by the end of next week (mid-March) hopefully. Please let us know what is happening. I will post the e-mail address as soon as I have it. BTW, I am a 41-year old mother of 1 soon-to-be 4-yr. old boy (3/28) married to a 42-year old hospice care- giver living in Frederick City, Maryland. I am a graphic artist working outside the home. My husband and I have been involved in the cohousing development process for over six years and have learned a lot! Most of all we have built wonderful friendships with all those we have crossed paths with in this crazy, exciting roller-coaster ride called CoHousing! We're looking forward to moving into our own neighborhood village in the next two years. See you in the common house . . . Amy de Boinville P.S. Thanks to all who have helped with this list (Fred)
