What a bunch of silliness. "Diversity" for the sake of diversity. Maybe we
could include a few neo-Nazis... the "freemen" may need a place for a while.
Maybe we could take in Buthelezi from the Zulu nation in Africa. How about
an hispanic such as Baby Doc from Haiti ?
You folks just latch onto the latest "liberal Democrat" cliche and make it a
shibboleth. You talk like a bunch of libertarians, conveniently ignoring such
things
as human history, and assuming that anybody who gets together with you will
furnish you with respect and ignore the power and privilege they walk in with.
I think that you are narrowing the focus of cohousing for us. You should
take a
look at the small successes of the Harambee project of Chicago, the On-going
Concerns group in the Sabin district of Portland, the Institute for Community
Economics in Springfield, Mass., the N-St. group in Davis, and Southside Park in
Sacramento. Hey, some courageous white folks (*as well as others) put their
wallets on the line, living in "inner-city" areas, expressing an open
invitation to
others to join them, with various degrees of success. I think that it is
always
those who can afford to, and have the guts as well, who will pioneer needed
changes to the old, failed, wasteful, and reactionary society around them.
And I don't find anything that uniquely limited to Denmark about cohousing.
There are cooperative communities throughout the world. Many of whom eat,
build homes, and work together. I think that the Danes have a lot of
"winner" qualities about their society that others would do well to emulate.
We are in an evolutionary (and competitive, from a systems point of view)
world, and you are truly, and cruelly, conservative if you simply wish to
preserve
the political, cultural, and economic lines of the present.
Thanks, once again, for allowing me the opportunity to bring up politics.
By the way... there are other things besides republicans and democrats,
liberals and conservatives, buddhists and baptists.....even in Utah
(and even in Wasatch CoHousing).
