Cohousing-L Mailing List: comments re gender questions??

Earlier this week I posted some questions from my editor regarding the article
I'm writing for Sojourner (I know...it seems to go on forever for me, too!)... I
have a bit more time to do this than initially so I'd still love to hear from
people who are living or close to living in cohousing who have comments about
gender roles, household structure, and whether any members are gays\lesbians (if
they have so declared...) 
        Also be interested in the last question from groups that are just
forming.
        Any comments on assumption that people interested in alternative
lifestyle like cohousing would also be more open to differences and less hung up
on "traditional" male/female roles, including sexual preference? 
        Any comment on assumption that cohousing is friendly, perhaps even
downright especially inviting, to single parents and singles in general?

Thanks again. My friends want to know how on earth I can learn all these things
about cohousing and I just tell them...I write a message to this great list and
people send me all sorts of answers! It's great.
