Cohousing-L Mailing List: Re:Choosing a name,cautions

Aside from process, I thought I'd add some cautions to picking a name.

We at Monterey Cohousing (Sometimes called MoCoCo - I kind of like that, but
some  hate the nickname)
chose our name really quickly, pretty informally, when we needed to
incorporate, I think. We chose it because we are on Monterey Avenue.  Duhh.

 It 's a long time ago. In retrespect, I would choose
something else: 
        1-We get confused with California  (we're in Minneapolis, Minnesota)
        2-In our immediate neighborhood there is Monterey Park (an apartment
complex), Monterey Townhomes (or some such name, I can never remember),
Monterey Place and Monterey Parkway (streets).  So the neighborhood makes it
harder to find us.  
        However, I suspect the name is here to stay.
        I guess I'm suggesting a bit more forethought.
