                                             (April admin notes at end)
In order to unsubscribe from COHOUSING-L:

Send an email message to listproc [at] cohousing.org with the following
one line command in the message body (no subject):

UNSUBSCRIBE COHOUSING-L

Note that your name is not required (or allowed) after the list name.

If this fails after getting the syntax right, send a message to
owner-cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org for assistance from the list manager

ALTERNATIVES TO JUST UNSUBSCRIBING

If your reason for unsubscribing is information overload (the most
frequent reason...) you may wish to consider one of strategies
other than just dropping your subscription discussed below --
Digest mode, reading archives periodically.

***** DIGEST MODE *****

Use the command:
SET COHOUSING-L MAIL DIGEST
When users set their mail mode to "digest", they will receive
postings from the list only once a day, bundled as one message. This is
great for people who are annoyed by a lot of messages or who only check
there mail once a day.

When replying to a message in a 'digest', please manually enter the
appropriate Subject/Thread -- otherwise your reply will have
the subject: "RE: COHOUSING-L digest ##" which isn't very helpful.

***** ARCHIVES *****

An alternate way to read or browse the COHOUSING-L messages via the
archives -- current and archived. The archive is updated
automatically and therefore always up-to-date. The archives are
accessed thru our web site at www.cohousing.org.

Reading the archives does not require one to be a subscriber
but posting messages does require one to be a subscriber. There is
"postpone mode" which allows one to be a subscriber and post but not
receive messages for mail. See the welcome message for details.

APRIL ADMIN NOTES

After the "tailing off" messages in March, there were about 200
messages in April, getting close to our pre move levels.

The gopher archives at mtn are working again after being broken since
December. Hopefully we will fill in the missed ones soon. The
CSF gopher archives are complete (excepte for our first couple years).
CSF also has the last year or so of messages in www format and these
are searchable. Anyone know how to set up searching of gopher files?

Please remember to check the Subject: line before posting,
PARTCIULARLY DIGEST MODE SUBSCRIBERS.

Please keep quoting to a minimum,
PARTCIULARLY DIGEST MODE SUBSCRIBERS...

The list continues to get a few subscriptions per day that are
apparently the result of forged subscribe commands. As a result I
send messages to new subscribers asking them to confirm that they want
to subscribe.
