In a message dated 97-10-17 02:01:19 EDT, you write: << I just finished reading the article sent by Denise Meier and Michael Jacob from the San Francisco Chronicle (thanks for posting this). I am curious about the national survey mentioned in the article. Can anyone tell me what this was about, who administered it, where I might find the results, why it was done, etc.? >> The Chronicle story did not get it quite right. The national survey was conducted in 1996 by Dorit Fromm and myself (with results written up in the Fall 1996 issue of the CoHousing journal). However, the resident satisfaction indicators cited in the Chron article were compiled from a more in-depth survey of 3 specific communities (Puget Ridge, Winslow, Pioneer Valley); the survey itself was compiled by Lisa Saleh (LSaleh [at] aol.com) and Tonya Graham, who were at the time graduate students at Goddard College. Dorit Fromm wrote up an article based on their survey results and it was published in the Summer 97 issue of CoHousing. Don Lindemann cohomag [at] aol.com
