Jim (and all) I am interested in your fear of copycats with the "trappings of co-housing". I wonder what your concept of "trappings would be? (it could range from communal space to a project in New Orleans I know of that involved a 23 house project built by a bank CDC,but without any resident input going in, etc.) I think I understand that some developer might easily do a project that is merely a shadow of the true essence of co-housing, but as long as there is not DECEPTION in place I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. If some of the positive characteristics got (re)adopted into new development this would be a good thing even if it isn't the BEST thing. I'm open to other ideas on this, what do you all think? Kelly Caldwell New Orleans (no existing co-housing project, but I'm trying to plant the seeds)
