Well, here we go, ready to "compromise the term"...
For what ?  The sake of other, more "important" values like "christian" 
community ?
Why not try attracting others on the basis of 1) It's not a commune,
2) It is a roof over your head 3) It is a MODERN form of community 4) It 
respects modern principles 
of environment: sharing and efficient use of natural resources,  5) It respects 
modern principles 
of Democracy,  6) It respects modern principles of Justice and fairness.  7) It 
transcends the 
limits of archaic religions.

For Bill and Allen:  "We" don't "have the responsibility to keep our doors open 
to all".  We have 
the responsibility to stick to our values.
