Peace. The Northwest Intentional Communities Association (NICA) is a helpful "umbrella" group for different types of intentional communities (cohousing, income sharing, neighbornets etc.) in Washington and Oregon. NICA sponsors networking and educational events for people already involved in intentional communities, and does outreach to people who are interested but not yet involved. Is there interest in starting a similar association in the San Francisco Bay Area? I am planning to visit November 27th-December 5th, and, if there is interest, I'd like to help publicize a Bay Area Intentional Communities Dinner sometime during my visit. If the timing is wrong for such a dinner (it is right around Thanksgiving & Hanukkah), but there is interest in such an idea or other gathering, please make arrangements as appropriate. There is little reason for me to be directly involved except that I could share a bit about what NICA does and how it operates.
