Hi all! I can't say I have every detail of how this came about but... > How did PATH become involved with your project? Did they approach you? > You-them? One of our group members knew someone who worked for Steven Winter Associates, a consulting firm specializing in energy systems and green tech. and she approached him. SWA are also the consultants to the PATH program for the same. SWA asked PATH on our behalf for funds to help us study the correct energy systems and green tech. that would work in our community. SWA/PATH were especially interested in TVC because we are a cohousing community and also urban. Two distinctions not as then covered in the PATH programs. We received $35,000 to pay SWA for their consulting services which have been invaluable. PATH is NOT a grant program. TVC has "demonstration project" status which means something in government-ese that I don't fully understand. > Are they helping financially? $35,000 for consulting services to SWA. > My reason for asking is this: At 7:00 on November 18, we are putting our > project idea up in front of the Seaside City Council. A nice bit of synchronicity....should help legitimize our > project in the council's eyes. But even more importantly, perhaps there is > a way for us to work together as you did in D.C. Cool! Go for it. Drop our name around liberally. Who from PATH is presenting? If Steven Winter himself is there from SWA don't be shy. He was pretty excited about our project. Sounds like you have a natural for cooperating on this one! > > Thanks for the info! > Elaine Bush > Central Coast Cohousing > Monterey Penisula, CA You're welcome! Have you checked out the PATH website? pathnet.org Good luck! Let us know what happens. Ann Zabaldo, Takoma Village Cohousing, WDC
