Billeting in Seattle for WTO?

Hi, my name is Sarah Kerr, and I am a member of Wholelife Housing, a
cohousing-community-to-be here in Calgary.

I have already sent this message to the Beacon Hill Community (mentioned
as a potential billet spot on the NICA website) but I thought I'd try
posting it here as well.

My friend Monica and I are making _very_ last minute plans to come to
Seattle for the WTO protest, and are desperately looking for some friendly
floorspace to inhabit. We are 2 polite and agreeable houseguests, happy
to contribute sweat equity or cash, purchase our own food and generally
make ourselves easy to have around. We will likely be out for most of the
day, needing only a place to lay our weary heads at night.

A bit about us: we are both in our early 30's and work in community
development. I am the Co-ordinator of The Bow Chinook Barter Community (a
local currency system) and Monica is a planner with the City of Calgary.
We are both deeply involved with Sustainable Calgary, a volunteer
organization working to develop indicators of sustianability for the City
of Calgary.

We will probably be in Seattle for 6-7 days (hopefully arriving on
Saturday) and are hoping to find a few different places to call home (so
as not to overstay our welcome at any one place.) Because the municipal
workers will be holding mass strikes in support of the protest, transit
will be difficult, so our preference would be to find places to stay that
are walking distance from downtown.

Ifyou have any space in your community, or know of someone who might be
interested in putting us up for a night or two, we'd really appreciate it.
I will be checking my email here and in Seattle and if you have any
potential places, sending us phone numbers would be great.

In the spirit of bartering, if anybody plans to be passing through Calgary
and is needs a place to stay, I'd be happy to offer my floor!

Thanks for your help.
Sarah Kerr
