Cohousing seems to trigger the need to make our values about helping
children explicit and founded.

Here are some books that may be of use.

- Any books by Dr Thomas Gordon, such as "P.E.T. "(Parent Effectiveness
Training) and "Discipline that Works - Promoting Self-Discipline in
Children". The ideas are helpful when a discussion gets stuck about the
merits of laissez faire and directive approaches.

- Gordon Lawrence's (1993) "People Types and Tiger Stripes" helps to make
sure that discussions about child rearing include the consideration that
there are personality differences. Great book for people who find the
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator thought provoking.

- Alex Chew's (1998) "A Primer on Adlerian Psychology". A thin book with
great depth. Adler is a very insightful thinker about the links between
behaviour, attention, power, revenge and display of inadequacy.
