Alchemy Farm (Falmouth, Mass) incorporated under the name Cape Cohousing. It wasn't until we were well into the design process that we came up with our permanent community name of Alchemy Farm. The name Cape Cohousing has stuck though. It is hard to get rid of, and takes some explanation to clarify, since it's the name we did business as for years. I have to agree with your view that it is confusing to have more than one name. In your case it sounds like the group has a stronger connection to Lawrence Cohousing than we had to Cape Cohousing. For us, it wasn't our identity, just our business name. In the long run, you will probably be known by the project name/location, so it would be clearer to start from there.
