About the apartment:
The second floor apartment is a small (~650ft2) one bedroom, but very bright
and open feeling.  The amenities include a private entrance, bedroom,  full
kitchen (w/electric stove) living room, and bathroom with a clawfoot
bathtub - but no standup shower. Appropriate for one, but could work for two
people. Laundry is pay per use in the common house.  Organic garden space is
available.

Rent for one person is $700/mo which includes heat (baseboard hot water), &
electricity  - some of which is provided renewably from the sun and soon the
wind. No pets, no smoking.  Available October 1, 2000. Yearly lease.

About the community:
Alchemy Farm is a lot development model cohousing community, established in
1991, on sixteen acres on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Construction began in
1996, and six houses are either built or currently under construction.  With
occupied houses and rentals or roommates we have eight family units living
on site. When built out, we will be fourteen households, plus several
rentals.

We are in the process of renovation of the existing barn for our common
house.  We have a large meeting room, small kitchenette, common laundry
room, living room and a three bay garage worshop.  The construction of our
new kitchen should start after the new year.

Our housing interests are passive solar, energy-efficient designed houses.
Some houses have photovoltaics, some composting toilets.  Our common space
has about 2 acres in organic agriculture with a CSA this year, as well as
existing household gardens.
