POTENTIAL COHOUSING IN PLEASANTON, CA

We are looking for people interested in forming a group around a site in
Pleasanton, CA.

The basic facts:
The site is 4.88 acres with a single family house and barn.
The site is one mile from the Ridgetop mall on a semirural road.
The owner has lived there and run a boarding stable on the property since
1975.
The owner would like to develop cohousing on the land, keeping the single
family house to live in.
The site is south facing with excellent solar orientation.
A small year round creek runs through the site.
The site backs up to the 580 freeway with all the good and bad that
encompasses (excellent freeway access and freeway noise).
The units would have unobstructed views of an undeveloped section of
foothills in the Pleasanton ridge.

Overall, we were more impressed with the site than we expected to be. While
the freeway noise is not something that can be eliminated, the landowner is
excited about keeping the land with a community who would care about it, the
land on the opposite hills is extremely unlikely to be developed anytime
soon, and the possibilities for energy efficient construction and great
gardening seem perfect for cohousing.

Please let us know if you would like more information about this possible
cohousing project. If there is enough interest, then we will continue
discussions with the landowner.

Respctfully,
Danny
