Dear Diane, We may be a smaller co-ho community than yours: 12 households, about to go up to 16 households. [And inviting in another household..... we were able to buy adjacent land]. We have committees and we have meetings of the whole group. So or Steering committee is us. while it doesn't sound as streamlined as having a steering committee, we've muddled thru this way for abt 10 yrs; moved in 3 1/2 years ago. We do meet every other week; committees meet as needed.... Used to be at least twice p month. All Best, Ruth Hirsch Cantines Island, Saugerties,NY -----Original Message----- Greetings from Boston! I did some research in the Cohousing-L archives on Steering Committees, but did not find information relevant to what I was looking for. I am looking for specific information about: 1) If your community does or does not have a Steering Committee if yes, 2) How were the members of the Steering Committee chosen? 3) What powers does the Steering Committee have? if no, 4) What organizational body do you have to coordinate the work of the committees and take charge of issues that fall in between committees? Thanks for your help! --Diane Simpson _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
