Dear Natalie -- I was just visiting the Commons on the Alameda in Santa Fe.
After many years of deliberation, they have bought a large TV/Video monitor
for their smaller common house meeting room (the set enclosed within a
cabinet when not in use). While I was there, a group of young parents and
their children gathered informally to watch an animation feature, and a few
others of us breezed in. It was quite pleasant, and obviously a relief to
the young folks, who wanted to "get out of the house."

I think the Commons has found a way to make the community TV something of
value socially, and it was possible to shut off the door from the rest of
the common house. I know Doyle Street has also had a history of avid soccer
game watching on their common house set. Joani--anyone at Doyle Street out
there, is this still true?
