I think that opening up cohousing space to the public devalues the
investment that a group of people make in the development of a sanctuary.
The inclusiveness / exclusiveness aspects enable the sense of belonging &
identity. The higher the threshold, the more valuable the membership.

If, in design, these boundaries are mistaken for being public space, then
I'd change that. If members have friendships with neighbours, then those
neighbours are obviously welcome.

I wouldn't want to deprive the surrounding community of the awareness that
there is a price that comes with having a conventional housing solution.
