Oakland, CA, the U.S. city with the most cohousing: two built communities
(Swan's Market and Temescal), two retrofit (Temescal Creek and Mariposa
Grove), and another group seeking land in the area, plus two other built
communities within a mile (Doyle St./Emeryville and Sacramento
St./Berkeley).

Rockridge is in North Oakland, near a subway stop of the same name with
frequent service to SF and the "safe" / "popular" / "yuppified" / "South
Berkeley" side of town.
