Our nominating committee had a unique idea for winnowing down the candidates. All members first nominated members for each office. Then a member of the nominating committee met with the persons most nominated for each office 4-5 people) and discussed how they viewed the office and if they were interested in serving. The "winnowing" actually turned out to be which one of us was least uninterested. In some instances, nominees said to others if you take this I will help you. Or I will do this or that to relieve you of this part of the obligation. It worked very nicely. Then a slate was presented to the membership for approval.
