We had no problem with the behavior of the service dog or any of our 3 or 4
dogs. And several do have to walk through the lobby, up the stairs or
elevator. The issue with the service dog in the guest room had to do with
the concern that we would not be able to clean the carpeting in the room
sufficiently well to get rid of the allergens which might be present.
Another reason for thinking these potential situations through ahead of
time. It is entirely possible that someone over-reacted at the time. (We
do have several very allergic kids and adults here.) I would have put a
sheet or washable blanket on the floor for the dog to sleep on. Guess we
need to send this issue to our Community Life Committee for further
exploration.
