This is RoseWind's "annual assessment" which is mainly the operating
expenses for our joint properties and functions, plus various reserves.
Examples of the latter are setting money aside for buying a tractor-mower
thing in a few years, to replace present equipment; depreciation reserves
on the common house @ 10% of its value; reserves against any future legal
actions that we might get dragged into; 10% overall contingency line
item.

This is our only assessment for the year. Can be paid annually or in
installments.
Meals are a separate system, funded by those who eat.

I can't put my hand on the full budget, right this minute, but I have
here figures that resulted when I took an "average" cost of $84 per
month, to each of our 24 households, and translated it into a verbal "pie
chart".

Common House $23 (depreciation $10.50, operation $12.50 a month)
(operation being heat, electricity, phone, garbage/water/sewer/recycling,
cleaning supplies)

Maintenance incl future equipment $17; Landscape $8 (still extending the
irrigation lines)
Property taxes (odds and ends- we mainly just each pay on our own
property, and they figure that includes the value of the "amenities") $8
Legal and insurance items $4.50
Contingencies $8
Insurance $4.50; Fees, accting, tax $4
Arbitration reserve $ 3.50
Committee sundry expenses (facilitation, childcare, outreach,
photocopying) $5

If you want more detail, you can email me off list. To get the actual
full-budget number for any of the above items, multiply by 12 months,
then by 24 households, for the total amount we have alloted for each of
those things.

PS- no snow removal expenses here, where it's still shirtsleeve weather
most days
