Liz, Thanks for the response. C-listers, can I please get at least a couple more responses so I can inform my community about what others do? You assistance is greatly appreciated. My original request is below. Chris Sheehan, Sonora Cohousing >From Liz: We have several expenses in our "club" account that are not good to put in the HOA. We pay for the babysitters from this account, take in money for laundry(a token amount) and meals, and buy staples for the pantry. -- Liz Stevenson Southside Park Cohousing Sacramento California My request: > > Sorry to bring this up again, but I would like a clarification form those in > the know. It appears from my reading of the tax form (US HOA) that > babysitting is not an acceptable expense to be included in HOA dues (into an > official HOA account). Also, I have been given some documents from > Wonderland, which in turn were provided by Nyland which contained a CPA's > opinion about which expenses/incomes were valid. It stated that things like > meal programs and babysitting were not valid as well. > > Are there any communities that include this expense in their official HOA > account/dues? > > If so, do you know positively that this is a legitimate expense? > > My assumption is that we will need to set up a separate private account to > handle such items. > > Thanks, > > Chris Sheehan > > From Sonora Cohousing in Tucson _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
