Yeah, I agree with this as a general policy.  I'd say that if someone
objects to what the team has decided, though, then it would go back to a
group decision.  The way your drill sergeant has it organized wouldn't work
for me (and other people like me), so I'm back to it being a matter for
concensus.

But, of course, it's your group's way of doing things, and maybe no one
there really objects to it.
