Many folks enjoy "Stories about life in cohousing". They can motivate newcomers and be encouraging when the development process gets difficult. Selwyn Polit <selwyn [at] austintx.com> has compiled a document from stories that have appeared on Cohousing-L: Reasons and Stories of Why People Love Cohousing http://www.AustinProgressiveCalendar.com/cactus/coho-stories.htm If you have such a story, we urge you to post it to Cohousing-L with a title that includes "stories" such as "Stories about life in cohousing" (Avoid "story" since that is used for newspaper articles etc) Below is an updated message regarding finding such messages in the archives. Here are links to many past and future (since these are search links) "Stories about life in cohousing" >From the Subject line search: http://nzpp.virtualave.net/coho/search.pl?string=appreciate http://nzpp.virtualave.net/coho/search.pl?string=remembering http://nzpp.virtualave.net/coho/search.pl?string=looking+%2B+glass http://nzpp.virtualave.net/coho/search.pl?string=stories http://nzpp.virtualave.net/coho/search.pl?string=encouraging+%2B+words Alternately you could get all of the messages from the above 5 links by copy and pasting the following line: (encouraging + words) (remembering) (looking + glass) (stories) (appreciate) into the "Enter search words:" box at the Cohousing-L subject line search page at: http://nzpp.virtualave.net/coho/ ( A few search technique notes used to find the "encouraging words" story can be found at very end of the earlier version of this message: http://csf.colorado.edu/cohousing/2001/msg02177.html ) Also note that the link at the bottom of the search results page has a link to "retrieve" all messages as one document in case you want to retrieve them and read them offline. (or start editing...) Of course there are some others in the archives with other subject lines too... Let us know of others you dig out of the archives. Fred -- Fred H.
