I don't remember too much resistance. Probably the biggest problem was
scheduling the sessions so all of the long distance members could
participate.
In reality the training was about much more than making consensus
decisions in a formal business meeting setting. Consensus is a
microcosm of life in cohousing. It's about really listening to and
being sensative to the concerns of others. It's about achieving common
ground. And ultimately it's about building long term, healthy
relationships. So the skills learned in the consensus training really
applied to those of us who choose to take a more active role in decision
making and also to all of us living here in comunity.
