Hi, my name is Andree and I live in a cohousing community in Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, which is the island state at the bottom of Australia. I and my partner and two daughters (8 and 10), would like to swap houses with people in cohousing communities in North America for a few months at sometime around October 2002 to Feb 2003. I have three months paid long service leave from my job and I?d like to spend that time revisiting some of my childhood memories, connecting up with some long lost family members and seeing some wonderful new places. I grew up in Toronto and Montreal and have family in British Columbia. Is there anyone out there who would like to come to Australia and live in a community here for a while? Our community consists of 11 households ? currently 17 adults and 13 children ranging in ages from 6 months to 15 years. We are on a large block of land in the foothills of Mt. Wellington with bushland at the back and a creek running through, but just 10 mins drive from the centre of the city. We have a three bedroom house with a private backyard and we have meals together in the common house every four days. We don?t have a website but I could send some photos to interested people and I?ve included below some websites that show you our part of the world. My idea is to spend 1-2 months on the west coast, travel across and spend 1-2 months on the east coast, or it could be the other way around, or it could be something completely different! Would anyone like to discuss this with me further? If so, I?d love to hear from you.
