I think that some of you are reacting to the word "voting" as if it
always meant "majority voting." As an ex-English teacher and lawyer,
perhaps I am sensitive to the more precise definition of words. But, I'd
like to remind you that to "vote" is simply defined as a formal way to
express your preference on something, and "voting" is "to declare or
pronounce by general consent." So, when we use our color cards to try
to make a consensus decision on something, we are in fact "voting" by use
of the cards. Instead of "majority voting," we are using a "consensus
voting" method.
Obviously, you can call it whatever you are comfortable with, I
just wanted to point out that it is not wrong to call it "voting."
