RoseWind's diverse housing also includes a two-story load-bearing
strawbale house (vs "infill" strawbale construction, with wooden
supports, and strawbale between). Three-story, with the
partially-daylight basement.

Energy efficiency, I'd note, involves the total construction. Our common
house, though built of EnerGrid/RastraBlock - another of those thick-wall
systems-- has many large glass windows and glassed doors, which are not
insulative. Of course the roof insulation is vital, too, since heat
rises.

Those interested in dome-type constructions might also search out info on
Deltec homes. I think they are concrete domes, in various modules.
