I (Fred) have corresponded with Australian Jan Forbes about arranging her
Denmark cohousing visits and encourage your consideration of her needs. 
She is sensitive to the 'visitor overload problem' some cohousing groups
have experienced and is a serious observer of the cohousing phenomenon.

I could not put my hands on a link to a message in the archives detailing

Below is her complete message but in order to get more attention I'm
repeating (and augmenting) her conclusion at the top of this message. 

 Jan is interested in the idea of paying someone else's expenses to drive
 her, either in their own car or a hire car to visit cohousing in Northern
 California  (Sacramento - San Fransisco)

Dear Fred

I do not have access to cohousing-l at present and would like you to
forward this message to the list for me. 

I have spent six weeks touring cohousing in Denmark and more recently have
visited Boston and Vancouver. 

I am now on on the West Coast of the US, on the last leg of my cohousing
study tour, staying at Southside Park in Sacramento. 

I leave for home from here on 27 July. 

Before then I'm hoping to make my way to N Street in Berkely to spend a
few days there, once I work out how to get there,

I'm interested in visiting some of the communities around San Francisco
and would also like to see Village Homes.

Unlike Denmark, where I travelled everywhere by car and bus, this is such
a vast country you seem to need a car to get around,

I do not have a licence to drive here, don't know my way around and the
whole idea of driving here terrifies me anyway. 

I'm interested in the idea of paying someone else's expenses to drive me,
either in their own car or a hire car.

Failing that, I'm open to any suggestions, advice, information that people
on the list can offer.  I can be contacted at
