I pay for service and use http://www.inno-tech.com It is $25 a month, no ads, 25 pop accounts. Forms (so people can fill in all the requested info and send it to an email account). I'm not sure what else. You ftp files all at the same time. Excellent and usually immediate tech support. Full back up so it is literally never down. You can host several domain names so if you have members who want to maintain a site, they can share the costs. They will also do database hosting. They also have many other services. You will find cheaper hosting but the tech support and reliability is really unmatched as far as I am concerned. Free sites will always have limitations. Our community site is hosted by Internet Planners, a good bit cheaper. It includes 25 pop accounts with larger plans for 50 or a 100. As far as I know this has worked well also, but we have two techies who work with them. You ftp the pages. http: //www.internetplanners.com/hostingplans.htm We have our own DSL that serves the whole community so we do not have to use a dial up services for access. The pop accounts that come with web service do require a dial up or some form of access.
