Cohousing-L Mailing List: What organizational structure worked best for your group

Hi Cohousing folks!

I, and the other people of Santa Barbara Cohousing need some advice from
you.  We?ve just come to the realization that it may be time to form
ourselves into a legitimate legal entity, as opposed to what we are now,
just a small group of people who meet regularly to discuss the feasibility
of building a community in Santa Barbara, CA.

We were wondering what other groups have done.  How did you organize
yourselves in the beginning?  Did you start as a club, business,
corporation, non-profit, LLC, other? Did you need to change your
organizational structure as things progressed?  For those of you who have
completed the whole cycle and are now living the dream, based on your
experience, what would you recommend for a group just starting out?
