There was a group that came very close to developing cohousing somewhere 
around Dallas (Garland?) but to the best of my knowledge, it's no longer a 
going concern.  There are several groups in Austin and one in San 
Marcos.  You can get info about them at the CACTUS website 
(http://www.centraltexascohousing.org/austincoho.htm)

Of course, I'm partial to the group I'm involved with, Central Austin 
Cohousing.  You can check us out at http://www.austincohousing.org

I don't know if it matters, but my family homeschools, and there's another 
family in the group that's considering it.  I'd be glad to answer any 
questions you have.
