We decided lo these many years ago to take a laissez-faire attitude towards
holiday decorations and celebrations in general. Anyone who wants to
decorate and/or celebrate is allowed to do so. The usual rules apply for
using the common house.

What this means in practice is that we usually end up celebrating
Christmas-a member organizes a posada and party every year-and the solstice,
and one member usually cooks a nice latke meal during Hanukkah. We have done
Kwanzaa, too, but there aren't as many people to sustain that.

Our kids love all the festivities, and I think it's a great example that we
set.
