I agree with this quote and the rest of the post from Cat, but I wanted to make a further point about the "racism" or "discrimination" question. There is nothing wrong with discrimination, we all do it hundreds of times a day almost every time we make any decision. The problem with discrimination based on race and certain other things, is that in those cases people are making decisions about other people based on pre- judgements (prejudice) based on hearsay about a class of people that they belong to. In other (clearer) words, if you have personal knowledge or other good evidence that particular individuals engage in behavior that you don't like, then you are ethically free to not associate with them.
