Magic Elves

The Moreno Valley article is great, but part of it reminded me of my
utopian first visions.

I remember first reading about cohousing and it sounded like magic elves
did all the work. Gee, you just show up and dinner is on the table, other
people watch your kids for you, the landscape is dripping with fruits and
nuts and vegetables. Right!

I love community and thrive on it - but hasten to advise potential
joiners that it's also a bunch of work. Gotta decide the system by which
you wash that plate, buy the soap, mop up the drips, take your turn at
cooking, shopping, cleaning, organizing, budgeting. In return, we get a
lot of social support and amenities. But let me know if anyone has found
those elves.
