Hi Everyone, The Cohousing Conference is looking for a few mavens (ie, masters, experts, or simply folks who survived the experience) who'd like to share their marketing and outreach strategies (successful and not) with forming communities. We already have one professional, Neshama Abraham Paiss, who is leading a session on working with the media, so we'd like this session to focus on the basics: How do you find new members? (Flyers, ads, word of mouth?) What kind of events attract prospective members? What has flopped? How to follow up without potential members without badgering them. What's a successful new member orientation look like? What's in your orientation packet? (do you even have one?) What about buddy systems, contact members and member retention? If you're willing to share what's worked (and not worked) in your community, please consider presenting or co-presenting this workshop. The workshop can be as formal as a academic lecture or as informal as lightly-moderated discussion. The format (panel, small groups, Q&A) is up to you. If you are interested, please respond to Ellen at ellen [at] whdc.com by April 11, 2003. Thanks!
