Hi to the list. I'm new to the list and not a co-housing resident yet, but thinking of joining a new one in Silver Spring, Maryland. Since the discussion list has been talking about special dietary concerns, I am interested to know if anyone has discussed or has experience with the need for kosher meals or meals kosher for Passover (at this time of the year) in addition to vegetarian meals and diets sensitive to allergens? Making one's own home set up to be kosher is initially difficult but very doable, but making a common area prepared for being kosher would be more difficult since that likely not be a living requirement for everyone in the community who, regardless of religious background, doesn't observe this need. This is even further emphasized for the Passover holiday. Certainly those who's dietary concerns require kosher foods can bring their own prepared meals to group meals using their own separate ingredients, cooking equipment, and utensils. Mostly I was curious to find out how this particular dietary need is worked with in terms of the "inclusive" nature of co-housing. I'm just curious if this issue has ever been discussed in the co-housing community and would enjoy a response from a knowledgeable person or persons? Please forgive me if I am not using the proper etiquette in this e-mail. Thanks for any answers. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Robert E.
