We don't have any communities listed on our communities list there, but
that doesn't mean there's no interest! Providence does have a number of
elements in common with other areas that have successfully formed
cohousing communities, including a large student population,
available/reclaimable land, people from elsewhere wanting to live there,
liberal political outlook (not a requirement, just one factor I've
noticed), and the like.

Our current database has less than a dozen folks in Rhode Island proper;
Shirley and Mel, you're our only current members in Providence itself.
But all that really tells us is that we haven't done any
recruitment/promotion there. If you want to hold some exploratory
meetings and get the word out, I bet you can find lots of people and
Coho/US can help see if the critical mass and opportunity is there.
