At Wasatch Commons, all units are accessible for visitors -- that is, there are no steps between the parking lot and the living rooms. We have a low-income two-bedroom specifically designed for a wheelchair. Half of the smaller units don't have a downstairs bedroom, which may eventually become a problem. Most common areas are accessible -- dining room, kitchen, sitting room, mailroom, laundry, a half-bath, three-quarter bath (with grab bars, large floor space for maneuvering, and a roll-in shower stall), guestroom (used as a secondary meeting room when not occupied), kids room, future messy crafts room (currently storage), workshop, and garage. There isn't a curb cut into the community garden, but a dirt ramp has become more or less permanent, for use by wheelbarrows, tillers, and trucks delivering amendments. The common areas that are not accessible consist of two upstairs rooms in the workshop, used as exercise rooms, an upstairs guestroom in the common house, and a loft area that doubles as a "clean" crafts room and an overflow guestroom. We don't have (have never had) any disabled residents, unless one counts the person who just had a hip replacement.
