"Douglas Gilbert (FAC)" <djgilbert [at] email.uophx.edu> is the author of the message below. It was posted by Fred the Cohousing-L list manager <fholson [at] cohousing.org> because the message included HTML ; PLEASE do not post HTML, see http://csf.colorado.edu/cohousing/2001/msg01672.html and http://www.harley.com/turn-off-html/ -------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS -------------------- The safety issues on both ponds and pools can be managed and insured. The basic parameters tend to be around what is insurable. The development I live in has a pool, which is not something to recommend. The operational costs are around $70K per year. Ponds will be much less intensive and expensive. I would recommend check with a two or three insurance companies to see what the coverage parameters are.
