It was posted by Fred the Cohousing-L list manager <fholson [at] cohousing.org> -------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE FOLLOWS -------------------- The legal committee of Yulupa CoHousing is putting together CCR's and By-Laws for our new group in Santa Rosa, CA. I mention that only because sometimes I wish people would put a place and name together. Can established groups give us some feedback on how you determined your voting system? We will be using consensus and only have voting as a fallback but need to indicate what that structure is in our By-Laws. Possible suggestions have been one house, one vote; each unit carry two votes; every adult in a unit have a vote. Another interesting suggestion was to have a two tiered system. Community life issues would have one vote for each adult living in the community. Any issues that have to do with expenditures ( outside of annual budget or priority setting of expenditures) would be voted upon by owners only. I'd like to get some feed back if you can tell me what system you have, how it works, how you arrived at that procedure? Thank you.
