I'm delighted to be able to offer this SNEAK PEEK at what you can look forward to in the April/May issue of Cohousing magazine, due out in early April, thanks to the hard work of Editor Evangeline Welch and the Coho/US all-star all-volunteer Communications Team. Spring is in the air, and I'm giddy with delight (or it could just be the all-nighters we're pulling to put this all together) at all the great stuff we have for you. Be sure to stop and smile while reading this message, in order to best appreciate all the coho-goodyness that's in store. In case you haven't peeked at the February/March 2004 issue lately, this is your last chance to read it without having to wade through the April/May issue contents and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Remember, this is the first free issue -- a collector's edition! http://www.cohousing.org/magazine/ This is your last chance to subscribe (yes, it's free!) and get this hot new issue directly the instant it is out (sure, you COULD subscribe afterwards, or simply read it on the web at any time of day or night, but you won't get that "hot off the press" smell, and what's the fun in that?). http://www.cohousing.org/magazine/subscribe.html This is also your last, best opportunity to advertise and get the widest circulation for your classified or display ad -- since all current ads at the time it is distributed get emailed far and wide, in addition to the period they are on the website (plus the PDF version and any printouts people make are a "snapshot" of the site, so you can gain additional audience for your message -- even among non-computer-equipped readers and visitors to communities where it is posted). http://www.cohousing.org/magazine/classified.html http://www.cohousing.org/magazine/advertise.html This is also a great opportunity to help make this issue of Cohousing possible by providing direct support for Coho/US in our efforts to support and grow the cohousing movement... please take a moment to donate today. http://www.cohousing.org/tcn/join.html COHOUSING MAGAZINE APRIL/MAY 2004 SNEAK PREVIEW TABLE OF CONTENTS LIVING IN COHOUSING It takes a village to raise a mother By Elaine Marshall Fawcett [Cascadia Commons, Portland, OR] What makes a great room great? 100 uncommonly good ideas for things to do in a common house [previously appeared in Cohousing magazine, but now on the web] by Stella Tarnay [Boston-area cohousing leader and former Editor of Cohousing magazine] Cohousing Meal Systems [previously appeared in Cohousing, but not on www.cohousing.org] by Joani Blank [Coho/US board member, tours coordinator, comm team member, and Swan's Market Cohousing resident in Oakland, CA] [in case you haven't noticed, we're going to be using every issue of Cohousing magazine to make accessible more of our 17 years (!) worth of archives... kind of a "best-of" so the collection grows by leaps and bounds with every issue, and you can print your favorite articles when you need 'em.
