Cambridge Cohousing in Cambridge, MA, set up a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) before we began collecting "serious" money and before we located land. The LLP purchased the land and also obtained the construction loan (if I recall correctly). Before the first move-ins, we formed the Cambridge Cohousing Condominium Association with the required Bylaws (can be viewed on our website) which includes the section on consensus decision-making.
