The author of basecamp is a _very_ cool guy from Copenhagen.  His approach 
to software development is such that he can write this sort of application 
very quickly.  So, if it doesn't do what you want, you might try talking 
to him and explaining the whole cohousing idea.  He just might br willing 
to produce some great stuff for you.
