FYI - a trademark is yours as soon as you start using it, provided that you 
don't infringe on another trademark, but to do so, you have to be in the same 
trade/field.  May TM owners use their marks for years before registering them - 
usually they register them right after they get enormously successful and there 
are imitators sprouting up.
