This is a note primarily for folks who read Cohousing-L messages via the archives (and not via email). Archives direct: http://lists.cohousing.org/archives/cohousing-l/ New messages do not always get listed at the top of the date index page so it is possible (tho rare) for a newly distributed / archived message to get listed on a date index page below one you have already read. Here's how this can happen: Messages get archived in the order of posting date. If a message gets held for my review and then later gets approved after other messages are archived and read. Messages are usually not held for more than a day or so. Note that this does not affect order of messages received by email. A little more diagramically (in chronological order): rejectable message posted other messages posted other messages read rejectable message approved and distributed rejectable message shows up in index BELOW already read other message One way to help avoid missing messages of interest is to watch the link colors. (link color changes after it has been read by your computer tho this does not work from session to session on public computers for example). Reading archives with a no mail mode sub ** reduces email in your inbox. It has the disadvantage of requiring you to remember to go to the archives and is prone to be forgotten when you get busy. ** no mail mode allows you to post without YOUR message being held for review.
