What we have at Westwood (where we have radiant floor heat throughout with a central solar water-heating & distribution system and very tight building envelopes) is Swedish vents in the exterior walls (one on each level) and very quiet Panasonic fans in the bathrooms. In the winter when we close windows, each house keeps a bathroom fan going and a Swedish vent open for adequate fresh air intake. Works great. --Elana Kann, Westwood -----Original Message----- From: Chris ScottHanson [mailto:chris [at] cohousingresources.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2005 7:40 AM To: Cohousing-L Subject: Re: [C-L]_ In floor radiant heating - can't beat it. Norm, Air to air (JP Cohousing) and air to water (Winslow Cohousing) heat exchangers are quite efficient these days, and should, in my opinion being running full time in the back ground. Do be careful not to create an accidental acoustic connection between the bathrooms with common venting. Made that mistake once... It can get embarrassing.
